Creative Callaloo Visual Arts Scholarship
Creative Callaloo: Art, Poems, and Recipes Inspired by the Virgin Islands' author Danica M. David is delighted to announce the second annual Creative Callaloo Visual Arts Scholarship of $1000.00. This scholarship is not just a financial aid, but a testament to Ms. David's personal commitment to the development of visual arts in the Virgin Islands.
The application release date is December 15. The deadline to apply is February 1 . Ms. David recognizes the importance of the visual arts in preserving and expressing culture. She would like to assist the next generation of visual artists. This $1000.00 scholarship is funded from her book sales and other book projects. "It is important that I do my part as a Virgin Islands artist and educator to assist other up-and-coming VI artists," David says. "The 2020-2021 Pandemic has taught me that I need to do what I planned in the future right now."
The Creative Callaloo Visual Arts Scholarship is open to one college undergraduate. Eligible criteria include students pursuing a degree in the visual arts, such as architecture, ceramics, digital art, drawing, fashion, graphic design, illustration, painting, photography, sketching, and video production. To apply, students must be high school graduates of the Virgin Islands. The application should include a digital portfolio and college transcript, demonstrating a 3.0 grade point average.
